Grant Financing for Medical Practices

The Regional Operation Program in Romania is an important means to aid in the reduction of disparities existing between the economic and social development of Romania and other EU Member States.  The program is divided into 5 Priority Axes.  

Priority Axis 4 - “Strengthening the Regional and Local Business Environment” allows dental offices organized as micro-enterprises to obtain up to 200,000 euro in grant-funding.  To be eligible, the following conditions must be met:

• Must be organized as an LLC micro-enterprise.
• Must operate in an urban area.
• The operational code must be listed in the Applicant Guide as the main or secondary activity to be eligible for financing.  
• Operate as an ongoing enterprise continuously since January 1, 2008.
• Must show profit for the last fiscal year.

Grant-eligible operational codes for dental offices are the following:

• 86xx – Activities on Human Health
• 87xx – Combined Healthcare Services

Note: Juridical form CMI is ineligible; only LLC is eligible.

Examples of investments that can be made through this fund:

• Purchase of dental equipment such as X-ray machines, dental tools, and other necessary office equipment.
• Medical office construction or upgrading.
• Purchase of equipment specific to individual health activities.
• Purchase of IT equipment.

The maximum grant amount is 200,000 euro and represents 70% of eligible expenses.
