The impossible dream Mr. Mezei had before the Romanian revolution of 1989 became a reality in 1990, an era when the entrepreneurial spirit held many Romanians spellbound as they longed for a lifestyle change and a break from the past. A car mechanic by profession, Mr. Mezei set up his auto shop in 1990.

Mr. Les' dream was owning his own printing press.  This dream seemed impossible before the 1989 Romanian revolution, but once the communist regime fell, his dream became a reality.  He bought some old equipment and started a small printing press in his hometown.  His business grew slowly at first.

Mr. Gere thought about starting his own business after visiting a friend in Hungary.  This friend owned a successful business and lived very comfortably.  Mr. Gere also witnessed many opportunities his friend had in contributing to community development.

Dr. Cret graduated from medical school in 1992 and began his medical career as a doctor in a small rural medical clinic near Alesd.  He strove to be a consummate professional, make proper diagonoses, and offer necessary treatment.  He held a  strong belief that the Romanian health care system needed major improvements.
